About Robins AFB, GA
Robins AFB is operated by the United States Air Force and is a major installation. Located in Houston County, Georgia, the base is about 100 miles away from Atlanta. Robins AFB was built in 1942 and has been in continual use ever since. Robins AFB is quite large, with a base population of around 40,000 people.
Robins AFB is home to the Air Force Material Command's Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, an important organization of the Armed Forces as it serves as the worldwide facility for a wide array of different aircraft, engines, missiles, software, and avionics as well as accessories and various components.
Robins AFB, one of only three Air Force Air Logistics Centers in the nation, is home to the Museum of Aviation which itself houses the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame. The Museum attracts more than 500,000 visitors every year.
