The Red River Army Depot is located in Boowie County Texas, just 18 miles west of Texarkana. Built in 1941 for the purpose of ammunition storage during World War I, this facility encompasses over 3,000,000 square feet. This space is now used for housing Army vehicles that are undergoing maintenance or repair.

The main function of the Red River Army Depot is performing maintenance and repairs on Army vehicles. Staff at The Red River Amry Depot maintain and repair all Tactical Wheeled Vehicles, including MRAPs and HUMVEEs, for the United States Army.

Twice this facility was slated for closure by the 1995 Base Realignment and Closure Commission and the 2005 BRCC. However, the facility remains open to this day and has received CITE Designation by the Department of Defense.
