Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, or NAWCTSD, is located in Orlando, Florida. It is one of the cornerstones of the National Center for Simulation and offers services and products that entail training solutions for surface and subsurface, aviation for the U.S. Marine Corps, programs and devices for the U.S. Navy, and life cycle program management.
The NAWCTSD integrates science and performance-based training to achieve its teaching and learning objectives. Other primary duties include serving as the U.S. Navy's principal site for acquisition, research, development, testing and evaluation. The NAWCTSD dates back to Long Island, New York, in 1941, with the Special Devices Desk in the Bureau of Aeronautics of the Navy's Engineering Division. The Special Devices Desk moved to Orlando in the 1960s and in 1993 became the NAWCTSD.
