Submission of a VA letter does not qualify as a "Schedule A" letter.
You must obtain and submit the Schedule A letter in addition to your VA letter as the VA letter is used for Veteran's preference purposes, not in determining the Schedule A disability.
In addition, upon hiring, the individual with a disability or the agency Human Resource office should complete the Standard Form 256.
The SF-256 includes the legal definition of disability and lists various disabilities, including several that are considered targeted disabilities.
EDUCATION: Some positions may require "Basic Education" depending on the series and grade level of the position.

EXPERIENCE: The DETAILED description of your work experience in your personal resume must clearly demonstrate that you have gained and currently possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position and grade being filled.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
