We are seeking a unique combination of database administrator, programmer, troubleshooter, and project manager to work with a team of IT professionals to support the day-to-day operations of the Bankruptcy Court.

If selected, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care and feeding of an enterprise-level IBM Informix database as well as the maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification of a custom database application developed by the courts.

As our Database Specialist or Programmer, you will manage your different areas of responsibility and determine where to focus your time and skills.

You will need strong troubleshooting abilities and enough programming skill to support your duties along with the ability to self-manage your projects.

You will meet with your team regularly to map out the direction of future operations and discuss areas where your unique skills may help your teammates.

You will be tasked with different projects based on the current and future needs of the court while maintaining its current database software.

In time, the organization will rely on you as one of its subject matter experts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * A working knowledge of Linux and/or UNIX operating systems and administration including shell operations/scripting.

* Relational database administration.

This is in an IBM Informix environment, but other similar database experience will work.

* Experience with server side scripting and coding languages designed to dynamically generate web pages based on HTML, XML, or other document types.

The current system is based on JSP/PERL script.

* The ability to self-manage is extremely important.

We are a small team of professionals who often work independently.

We also work together when areas overlap and pitch in on projects as needed.

* Enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and strong intrapersonal skills are a must.

Daily interaction with the team and customers is paramount to success.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * PC troubleshooting experience.

All members of the team answer helpdesk questions as a secondary duty and we operate in a Windows 7/10 environment.

* Crystal Reports.

While not necessary to have this knowledge on day one, you will be responsible for the administration, use, and development of reports utilizing this software.

* The ability to speak and write in a clear and concise manner to non-IT people.

Each team member is responsible for training, drafting documentation and email communication, and providing status updates.

* Knowledge of, or experience with areas of the law.

Being arrested or sued does not count.

Current grand jury investigations may be considered if there is a good story behind it.
