About the Position: This is a Direct Hire Solicitation for Cyber Workforce Positions.

The following positions may be filled from this vacancy announcement: Information Technology Specialist (PLCYPLN) GS-2210 Multiple vacancies exist and may be filled from this announcement at any of the locations listed.

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.

However, the first cut-off date for referral to the hiring official with known/projected vacancies is 3 days from the opening date of the announcement.

Subsequently, applications will be referred to selecting officials every 14 days or as vacancies occur.

Positions may be filled as permanent, temporary or term with a full-time or part-time work schedule.

Selections made under this announcement may be non-competitively converted to the Cyber Excepted Service upon implementation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

GS-09 Minimum Qualifications Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes communicating technical information to a wide audience of stakeholders; and ensuring guidance and policies meet command's objectives OR coordinating upgrades and reconfigurations with other agencies.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18.

Add the two percentages.

GS-11 Minimum Qualifications Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in the development of local policy or procedures implementing guidance from higher level authorities; participates in risk assessments, program planning, or coordination of systems life cycle functions OR coordinates the configuration, install, or maintenance of servers, software, or hardware.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.

Add the two percentages.

GS-12 Minimum Qualifications Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes communicating system problems to technical personnel such as communications specialists, data managers etc; providing technical or professional IT advice and recommendations to customers OR evaluating the impact of business needs or changes on current policies.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.

For this job at the GS-12 level, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Individuals utilizing experience to qualify for this position must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
