About the Position: The Information Technology Specialist (Data Management) position is located at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Information Management Division.

About William Beaumont: William Beaumont is located at the base of the Franklin Mountains in the central part of El Paso bordering 3 states and 2 countries.

William Beaumont offers ample free parking to its staff and visitors and is accessible from I-10, Patriot Freeway, and Border Highway.

Contained within the medical center is a small exchange, dining facility, barber shop, chapel, credit union, small gym, and a quarter-mile running track is within walking distance.

City buses also provide service to and from the Center.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Specialized Experience: Experience maintaining database systems; analyzing data management programs; developing secure processes of data storage and retrieval; establishing methods of displaying information; and providing solutions to software and hardware operations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-09.

In ADDITION to the specialized experience, you must have the following competencies as described: Attention to Detail - Is conscientious about attending to detail when planning, analyzing, implementing, scanning, and enhancing Information Assurance systems and programs ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of network systems and when installing applications and operating systems with minimal disruption of operations.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers in the delivery of customer support services including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting hardware and software programs and assessing Information Assurance.

Oral Communication - Ability to communicate effectively orally in order to provide advice to customers on work efforts, or to resolve issues or operating problems.

Problem Solving - Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and develop corrective action plans for the resolution of problematic issues and provide guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations for network security violations.

OR Education: A PHD or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
