About the Position: This position is located in the Department of Surgery, Urology Service, Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii.

Hawaii is a beautiful state, but may be considered to have a high cost of living.

The median house price is $700K.

The rental market is high as well.

Hawaii has many outdoor activities all year round including surfing, paddling, diving, fishing, and hiking.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

Specialized experience is experience in assisting the Physician during routine or diagnostic procedures, operating and monitoring commonly used endo-urology equipment, and utilizing sterilization methods to clean instruments.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-07: At least one full year of graduate level education from an accredited college or university with major courses of study in fields such as chemistry, biology, pathology, physiology, and practical instruction on the use of medical instruments.

Combination of Experience and Education Substitution for Specialized Experience for GS-07: Possess some specialized experience as described in Experience required above, but less than one year; and possess less than one full year of graduate level education as described in Education Substitution for Specialized Experience above.

Compute the percentage of the requirements so that the total is at least 100%.

(To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12.

Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18.

Add the two percentages.
