You may qualify based on your education/experience, as described below: Experience - Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

AND For GS-13: Possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of an Information Technology Specialist (Information Security) at the GS-13 grade level.
This experience must have been equivalent to GS-12 grade level in Federal service.
Specialized experience is possessing knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data security standards and applying Information Technology (IT) systems security principles, concepts, and methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating (IT) security tools and procedures; critical (IT) procurement requirements; developing security design requirements through sound design methodology, adequate security control application, and effective configuration practices; applying methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures; security certification and accreditation requirements; network operations and protocols; and computer forensics principles.
AND This position includes a Selective Placement Factor (skill, knowledge, ability or other worker characteristic basic to - and essential for - satisfactory performance of the job).
Selective Placement Factors are a prerequisite to appointment and represent minimum requirements for a position.

The Selective Placement Factor for this position is: possess experience in successfully leading a small team, including providing guidance and technical direction for accomplishing the work of the team and ensuring the basic work assignments of employees are carried out.
