About the Position: The Allergen Extract Laboratory is located at the Forrest Glen Annex in Silver Spring, Maryland.

This location is a short commute away from Washington D.C. and For George Meade Army Post.

Forrest Glen Annex is a tenant organization of Fort Detrick, Maryland.

Non-competitive promotion to the full performance level (GS-08) is authorized.

Specialized experience is defined as: Processing and formulating patient specific allergen extract vaccine prescriptions.

Utilize aeroallergen and food diagnostic testing materials.

Reviewing prescriptions for accuracy of dosage amounts, units of potency, etc. Verify prescriptions with physicians when discrepancies are determined.

Utilize and maintain laboratory equipment such as laminar air flow hood equipment, eye wash stations and storage refrigerators; adhering to the guidelines, procedures and regulations of the laboratory.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
