The incumbent, in coordination with the Chief Information Officer (CIO), and in support of the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) of the House, leads the technology direction for House Information Resources (HIR) and assures the successful execution of the House of Representative’s mission with the overall responsibility and accountability to identify, evaluate, design, and implement new technologies in support of the CAO and HIR Strategic Plans.
Assist the CIO in the formulation of strategic and operational technology plans, and the proper utilization of resources to achieve information technology goals and objectives.
Provide the House with state-of-the art technical services and ensure that technical policies and processes operate at the highest standards.
This position has supervisory/managerial responsibilities.
• Demonstrated experience in the development, preparation, and execution of operational and strategic technology plans.• Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in application, system, network and communication platforms.• Demonstrated understanding of application and system architecture principles and objectives.• Demonstrated competence in a wide range of technical and administrative areas to include the preparation of departmental budgets and major hardware and resources procurements.• Demonstrated knowledge of project management and architectural design methodologies for Information Technology systems.• Ability to recognize and deal with politically sensitive issues in both technical and legislative environments.• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with elected officials, senior staff thereof, information systems professionals, and technical and non-technical users.
