The mission of the Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) Programs team is to maximize the physical, emotional and social development of the Navy family.

FFR enables a ready Navy force through its Fleet Readiness, Family Readiness and Housing Programs.

We service all non-appropriated fund (NAF) employees who work for Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), Navy Gateway Inns & Suites (NGIS) and Bachelor Housing (BH) throughout the Fleet and Family Readiness Program for the Naval District Washington (NDW) Region.

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred, but may be substituted by a minimum of 3 years general experience, and a minimum 1 year specific documented experience in the areas noted herein.

Knowledge required: basic computer systems and design; knowledge of hardware repair sufficient to detect and trouble shoot damaged or corrupted system components and effect repairs, specific configuration of the POS/MIS sufficient to advise and assist management and staff on functional use; basic training and teaching skills; basic troubleshooting techniques; and full understanding of all Windows Architecture including server and workstation.

A considerable knowledge of Citrix Systems – Independent Client Architecture (ICA), knowledge of database design and maintenance such as Access, SQL, and Progress is necessary for MIS/POS/Business systems, or CYMS.

Must be familiar with the basic operation of existing LAN, WAN, VPN, and Firewall Security Systems.

Must possess excellent customer service skills.

Must possess a good understanding of the role of MWR and the other Quality of Life Programs dependent on the MIS/POS/Business Systems and CYMS.

Basic knowledge of NAF accounting, personnel, and procurement, and familiarity with KRONOS Timekeeping Systems, SAP Management Information System, Food and Beverage, Hotel or Recreational POS Systems in highly desirable.

Incumbent will have 6 months from date of hire to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain certification/recertification for position outlined in DoD 8570.
