NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
This position is located at the 125th MAI SQ, Jacksonville, FL AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite military technicians in the Florida National Guard; Category 2: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 3: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard.
First consideration will be given to Category 1. INTRODUCTION: This position is located in either the Avionics Intermediate Shop (AIS), Improved Avionics Intermediate Shop (IAIS) or ECM Pod Shop, Component Repair Branch, of an Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.
This is an Air National Guard (ANG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification.
Its purpose is to inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify software controlled automated and manually controlled test stations, ECM Pods, peripherals, support equipment and associated subsystems.
The stations are used to repair and maintain all avionics line-replaceable units (LRUs) and Pods.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of electronic theories and practices to identify, isolate and repair malfunctions in one or more complex integrated systems where knowledge of the entire system is necessary to interpret error data and trace back through a number of units of the system to locate deficiencies; thorough knowledge of principles of digital and analog circuits, electro-mechanical devices, solid state devices, digital techniques, synchro/servo operation and integrated circuit theory; ability to interpret and trace schematics, logic and wiring diagrams and use a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-12 must have at least a three-skill level in one of the compatible AFSCs, with 12 months of work experience, that involved installing, modifying, overhauling, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, aligning, calibrating, and rebuilding multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions.
NOTE ONE: For the WG-2610-12 ANG Dual Status Technician positions, the mandatory military training requirements are the completion of an Air Force Three Skill Level Technical Training School and successful On-the-Job training that will result or resulted in the award of a compatible Five Skill Level AFSC.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-13 must have at least 12 months of specialized experience working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-12, and must possess the craftsman level of knowledge and skills to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions.
NOTE TWO: For the WG-13 ANG Dual Status Technician position, the mandatory military education requirements are the completion of an Air Force Seven Skill Level Technical Training School and awarded a compatible Seven Skill Level AFSC, along with the successful completion of at least one military professional education course program.
MULTIPLE LEVEL RECRUITMENT: This position is being advertised using multiple level recruitment to allow for consideration of applicants with the basic skills necessary to develop to the full journeyman level of the position.
If a less than fully qualified applicant is selected, incumbent may be trained and developed until proficiency is gained to full journeyman level.
If less than fully qualified individual is selected for this position, the position has potential to Grade WG-13.
