ILLINOIS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Illinois National Guard.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

Duty Location: 126 MAI SQ, SCOTT AFB, IL Selecting Official: SMSgt Frank Harpster II Open Areas of Consideration: 1, 2 - The first area of consideration will be permanent technicians on board with the 126 th ARW.
The second area of consideration will be individuals holding or eligible to acquire membership with the 126 th ARW.
Applicants who meet the first area of consideration will be considered before those who meet the second area of consideration .
Military Requirements: Selected Candidates will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
Selectee is required to cross train if not currently compatible.
Compatible Military Assignments: 2A0X1, 2A2X1, 2A2X2, 2A2X3, 2A3X4, 2A3X5, 2A8X1, 2A8X2, 2A9X1, 2A9X2, 2A9X3 - May not exceed the rank of MSgt.

General Experience: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with sufficient knowledge to complete the work of this occupational series.
Experience or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to lead other technicians engaged in the duties performed by this occupational series.
Specialized Experience: WL-13 Level - Must possess 24 months: Experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic integrated systems equipment.
Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic integrated systems equipment.
Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment.
Experience in using a wide variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) .
Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.
In addition to the journeyman level knowledge , experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series.
Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment.
The ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series.
Quality of Experience - Length of time is not of itself qualifying.
Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed.
The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position.
Military Requirements - Military skill set is determined by AFSC requirements.
Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC.
Other Requirements - For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
