About Fort Campbell, KY
The address of Fort Campbell does not tell the full story of its actual location with nearly 103,000 acres in Kentucky and Tennessee. In 1941, facilities were opened with only 20 servicemen attached to an armored or infantry division. Today, nine units are stationed here including the 101st Airborne, 5th Special Forces, 52nd Ordnance Group, and 19th Air Support Operations Squadron.
This is a United States Army facility with supporting forces of the same branch responsible for its operations. Examples of these include two hospitals with the 86th Combat Support Hospital and Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. The 63rd Chemical Company and Sabalauski Air Assault School highlight the operations and support diversity of the compound.
Fort Campbell is one of the front-line Army camps for Special Forces and infantry training. Barracks accommodate over 2,400 officers and more than 45,000 enlisted service personnel. The Screaming Eagles is an expert parachuting team known for its precision free-falling capability.
