About Dover AFB, DE
Dover Air Force Base is located in the state of Delaware, specifically outside of Dover. The base itself was first created and established in March of 1941 but didn't get it's own Army airfield until a few weeks after the Pearl Harbor attacks.
Dover AFB is controlled by and serves the United States Air Force and has a total of 3,394 people living in the area of the base.
Originally, the base came into being when the U.S. Army Air Corps made it known that they needed an airfield for training, so the base was created. This facility is currently responsible for having assigned several major Air Force military commands, such as the very First Air Force command in December of 1941 and most recently, the Air Mobility Command starting in 1992 and going strong since then.
