About Beale AFB, CA
Beale AFB is located about ten miles east of Marysville, California, which is itself 40 miles north of Sacramento. The 2010 Census showed that Beale AFB had a population of a little over 1,300, but it is actually home to about 4,000 military personnel.
Beale AFB covers almost 23,000 acres of pristine rolling hills and is home to an abundance of natural resources. The base was built in 1942, and has been in continual use since 1948. The host base at Beale AFB collects high-level intelligence used by the President and Congress, and is equipped with the United States' fleet of U-2 Dragon Lady, RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aircraft, and the MC-12 Liberty aircraft, used for reconnaissance purposes.
There are also 38 Native American sites, 45 homestead sites, and 41 World War II sites dedicated to preserving historically and culturally significant sites.
