A major Army facility, located in Bynum, Alabama, USA, Anniston Army Depot, aka ANAD, produces and repairs vehicles designed for ground combat. This facility is also known for overhauling Small Arms Weapons Systems. Moreover, this U.S. Army location houses chemical weapons referred to as Anniston Chemical Activity.
Covering 25-square miles of Calhoun County, Anniston Army Depot employs over 3,400 civilians who test and repair tanks and other various equipment. Probably the most notable service the facility provided in history dates back to WWII when it became a storage hub for munitions as well as rockets, projectiles, bombs, and landmines comprising VX nerve agent, Sarin, and possibly mustard gas.
